“What is new in the world? Nothing. What is old in the world? Nothing. Everything has always been and will always be.” – Shirdi Sai Baba
Sai Baba of Shirdi, also known as Shirdi Sai Baba, was an Indian spiritual master who was regarded by his devotees as a saint, fakir, and satguru, according to their individual proclivities and beliefs. He was revered by both his Hindu and Muslim devotees, and it was uncertain if he was a Hindu or a Muslim. This, however, was of no consequence to Sai Baba. He stressed the importance of surrender to the true Satguru or Murshid, who, having trod the path to divine consciousness, will lead the disciple through the jungle of spiritual training.
Sai Baba’s most famous teaching affirms that there is only one God who is the master of all. This message of universal unity transcends all religious, caste, and social divisions.
Sai Baba’s two foundational pillars for spiritual life. Shraddha (unwavering faith) combined with Saburi (infinite patience) form the complete path to God-realisation.
His moral code emphasised love and forgiveness, helping others and charity, contentment and inner peace, devotion to God and guru, and making no distinctions based on religion or caste.
“Trust in me and your prayer shall be answered.” Sai Baba taught that surrender to the Satguru is the surest path, and that the guru’s grace responds to sincere devotion without fail.
