A permanent home for GMUKPT
Help us turn Barnet's empty Quinta Club into a community centre for all and a Hindu temple.
We've served communities across the UK for over 10 years without a home of our own. At Quinta, children will learn, older people will meet, families will pray and celebrate, newcomers will find friends, neighbours and communities will come together.
Add your support by Sunday 18 October.

A place to belong
Mays Lane, Barnet
Barnet Council is selling the Former Quinta Club on Mays Lane, Barnet EN5 2AP.
Gajanan Maharaj UK Parivar Trust (Charity No. 1190173) is applying to reopen it as a community, cultural and wellbeing centre with a Hindu temple at its heart, converting it into an Asset of Community Value, open to everyone.
Application submission deadline: 18 October.
The Council will ask two questions
Does the community want this?
Your name answers the first.
Can it be paid for?
Your pledge answers the second.
That is why we are asking you to show your support and make a pledge.
Every action makes our application stronger. Choose the way that feels right for you.

Pledge any amount towards the building. You pay only if our application is successful. UK taxpayers can add 25p Gift Aid to every £1.
Lend to the Trust at 0% interest. We repay you in full between 2 and 5 years after we receive it.
Some buildings are simply buildings. Others hold memories.
The Former Quinta Club was once a place where young people came together, where friendships were made and where the building had a clear purpose in the local community. Today it stands vacant and derelict. We believe it can have a future again — not simply as a building owned by a charity, but as a place where people can once again belong.
Vision
To restore the Former Quinta Club as a welcoming, inclusive and well-run community, cultural, educational and wellbeing centre, run by a registered charity for the long-term benefit of residents of Underhill, Barnet and the wider community, where people of all ages and backgrounds can learn, volunteer, connect and look after their wellbeing.
Three principles shape the vision
Most of the centre's use would be community and public-benefit activity open to all. We would report publicly on this (Section 22).
GMUKPT's cultural and spiritual heritage explains why we serve and what values we bring. It does not limit who is welcome. Spiritual activities would be one part of a much wider programme.
The final programme would be shaped through consultation with Barnet Council, local residents, schools and community organisations, and would be designed to complement existing local provision, not duplicate it.

A place to learn, share and grow.
Imagine a warm, open door on Mays Lane. A place where a child finishes their homework, a neighbour finds a cup of tea, a volunteer shares a skill and a family celebrates together.
"That is the Quinta we are working towards: rooted in faith, open in spirit and made useful to the whole community."
Your support can help demonstrate that the community wants a permanent home for worship, learning, wellbeing and connection.
